Embroidery is rooted from way back. You needed a thread/yarn and a needle, then you were set to embroider. Nowadays, embroidery is a popular hobby and the embroidered accessories are used on commercial wares and to stylize clothing, but usually the finished product has been made by a machine. It is easier to learn how to embroider these days if you have the right equipment, but just like anything else; one must master embroidery by practicing and becoming patient with the setup as with the entire process.
There are two options you have. One is Free Motion Sewing Machine Embroidery. Free Motion Sewing Machine Embroidery involves using a basic zigzag technique with a normal sewing machine. This takes a super-skilled technician using a running stitch to create a logo, design or series of characters. Things have changed a lot though. Embroidery has become very sophisticated in the realm of automation and has evolved into what we call Computerized Machine Embroidery.
Computerized Machine Embroidery involves using an embroidery machine and a digital art file made by a special computer program to make a simple or complex design a reality. The digital art file drives the machine to follow guidelines for the specific job at hand. If the machine has more than one needle, it will take less time to complete. With one needle you would have to switch out threads whenever a change in color is needed. There can be up to 15 needles all representing their own color.
This article makes it pretty obvious that (option #2) Computerized Machine Embroidery is the way we do it and do it well. Call us at 800.480.3947 to get a quote for your job.
